Cultural Resource Resume Review! SOLD OUT

Are you looking for a new job or maybe your first job in the cultural resource field? Dismantle Preservation is excited to offer free resume review as a part of the 2022 educational offerings! Leaders in historic preservation, archaeology, museums, and nonprofits will provide feedback on your resume based on their expertise.

Each professional has a limited number of feedback spots, so sign up today. Participants are limited to one review.

There are still a few spots left (register below), but based on the high level of interest additional resume review will be offered in August 2022. Fill out this very short form to get on the notification list/give us feedback.

Timeline:

Registered participants will be connected with their resume reviewer June 1-3; participants will send reviewers their resume; reviewers will provide resume edits/commentary via email by the end of June.

Reviewers:

  • Kelsey Brow - Kelsey Brow is Executive Director at the King Manor Museum, one of the longest-operating historic house museums in New York City, which interprets the life and times of anti-slavery founding father Rufus King to foster critical thinking. Trained in the study of decorative arts and material culture at the Bard Graduate Center, Brow's academic work focuses on the intersection of consumption, gender, and ethics with material culture and the decorative arts. She has given talks at the AAM Historic House Summit, NEMA, the Greater Hudson Heritage Network conference, The Society for Historians of the Early American Republic, the New School, and Rutgers University, among others. She spoke at ICOM Kyoto on the importance of investment in staff and pay equity in small museums in September 2019. Currently, she is curating historic house museum experiences focused on environmental justice. Brow is actively involved in the museum community, through volunteer work with AASLH, the conference committee of the Small Museum Association, and is Northeast Regional Director of the National Emerging Museum Professionals Network.   • Frank Butterfield - Frank joined the Landmarks Illinois staff in 2013, first as Springfield Office Director before taking over as Chief Operating Officer in 2021. As COO, Frank oversees Landmarks Illinois’ day-to-day operations statewide, is responsible for the organization’s sound financial management and ensures it is hitting its strategic goals. Prior to joining Landmarks Illinois, Frank worked as director/field officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the Wisconsin Field Office and held positions with the Roger Brown Study Collection and DePaul University in Chicago. Frank has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Boston College and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. LinkedIn

  • Jacqueline Drayer - Jacqueline is the owner of Mulberry History Advisors, where she helps communities harness the power of cultural resources. For more than eight years she has advanced the preservation field as a senior architectural historian, nonprofit manager, senior preservation planner, and volunteer. Her accomplishments include leading preparation of 12 National Register nominations; local designation of 13 historic properties in Washington, DC; writing the first Section 106 cell tower policy adopted in Wisconsin; facilitating Section 106 consultation in more than 35 states; revising a historic district’s design guidelines to facilitate socioeconomic inclusion; and working to ensure that 10 vacant historic houses can be rehabilitated and affordably rented or sold in Milwaukee, WI.   • Trish Fernandez - Trish Fernandez is the President and CEO of InContext, a small, woman and minority-owned corporation specializing in cultural resources management. She has over 27 years’ experience practicing cultural resources management in the western United States. She meets the Secretary of Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeologist and Historian; and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (No. 12198) and a California Registered Historian (No. 583).   • Raina Regan - Raina Regan is a historic preservation professional with over 10 years of experience in both preservation regulatory and advocacy roles. She's held positions in state and national preservation organizations, along with state and federal government agencies with a focus on Section 106 compliance. Additionally, Raina is the author and creator of Uplifting Preservation, a newsletter of uplifting ideas on how to improve historic preservation professional practice inspired by business, psychology, and self-help research. Raina holds a B.A. in Art History and Visual Culture from Michigan State University and a M.S. in Historic Preservation from Ball State University. LinkedIn

  • Sierra Van Ryck DeGroot - Sierra Van Ryck deGroot (she/her) is the Assistant Director of Education at Poster House in NYC. She has a BA in Art, Design, and Interactive Media, Fine Art, and Art History from Seton Hall University and an MSEd in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education. She is also a co-president of the National Emerging Museum Professionals Network and an editor for Viewfinder, the NAEA Museum Education Division journal. In her free time, Sierra can be found reading, tweeting at @sierra_vrd, visiting a museum, or preaching the good word about Dig (Inn). LinkedIn
